Palo Alto High School’s Model United Nations Club will attend the upcoming Stanford Model United Nations Conference on Nov. 15 at Stanford.
According to Leslie Wan, co-president of Paly’s MUN club, club members are looking forward to the participating since they were unable to attend last year.
The SMUNC draws 600 to 900 participants and they aim to educate students about current events, international relations and world diplomacy.
According to Wan, SMUNC is unique due to a crisis simulation where “terrorists” come in during the middle of a discussion and take away delegates.
“During these conferences you meet a lot of new and unique people from all over, like New York and Hong Kong,” Wan said. “It’s really amazing when you meet people who are just as passionate as you are about creating solutions for the world.”
