FINAL MONTHS — Customers shop inside of Country Sun Natural foods that will be closed by December 25th, 2023. It may be slightly more expensive to shop at a smaller store like country sun, but I think that’s a shift that we are forced into the big box stores during the pandemic, Country Sun Natural Foods customer Rebecca Glasburg said.

The new Magical Bridge playground at El Carmelo is gaining positive attention from the Palo Alto community since it opened. Nicole Maculi, the PTA President of El Camelo appreciates the add in to the school, and all that it brings. “Its a truly magical experience for us and its brought a lot of magic and happiness and excitement to our school,” Maculi said.

STUDENTS FIGHT CENSORSHIP — The Oracle Editor-in-Chief Hanna Olson and former adviser Carla Gomez converse with Student Press Law Center Executive Director Gary Green. “I hope that there can be some acknowledgment of the censorship,” Olson said.

BOARD DELIBERATES — The Palo Alto Unified School District board deliberates at an Oct. 27 special board meeting to discuss two resolutions related to the Israel-Hamas war. “With these resolutions, we are opening ourselves up, I believe, to legitimate criticism in the future that we pick and choose which people to care about and whose lives to value, board Vice President Jesse Ladomirak said.

CREATING COMMUNITY — Paly sophomore Michelle Park reviews the Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum to learn more about what the Ethnic Studies course could offer the Paly community. “It [the course] is a great opportunity for people to know more about their backgrounds, and to really connect with other people who share the same backgrounds as them,” Park said. “And … I think it’s a great opportunity for Paly kids to learn about other cultures [that] are different than their [own].”
