Students at Saratoga High School can now view the “Interwoven” exhibit, a collaborative project between Palo Alto High School’s Art + Tech Club and Saratoga High School’s Art Club, after it opened on May 13 in the school’s student center. 

The piece features a six-by-six grid upon which 36 3D-printed images are displayed. Gaining inspiration from over 400 student interviews across both schools, the images range from sports objects, such as footballs and baseballs, to musical instruments, such as piano and guitar, and are themed around student passions and interests. 

For freshman and Paly Art + Tech Club president Selim Uyan, partnership between the two clubs highlighted how artistic creation benefits from collaborative synergy. 

“Art + Tech Club is really built upon one core idea — every voice matters,” Uyan said. “When I communicated that, [Saratoga Art Club] told me that they had a bunch of perspectives that can really be imbued into the project. In the end, what the project benefited from was having a lot of perspectives and points of creativity.”

Next year, Uyan aims to bring the exhibit to his own school.
